The Health Prevention Centre of the Municipality of Corinthia is the Central Coordination Institution for the Municipality and, for the citizen, the necessary One-Stop Service in all matters concerning Preventive Medicine and the Promotion of Public Health. It ensures and guides municipal preventive care initiatives so that each action is governed by continuity, consistency and up-to-date expertise. The main objective of the Programme is to raise awareness, inform, organise preventive examinations and referrals to health structures for all citizens, regardless of their insurance capacity, with emphasis on the most common diseases encountered by health professionals in Primary Health Care.

The Health Centre plans, organises and coordinates the Prevention and Screening Programmes and links them with existing health structures of the private and public sector (i.e. necessary examinations depending on the risk group to which each person belongs and their planned repetitions as well as referral for further testing when necessary). Recommends specific visits and examinations to the treating doctors, so that each citizen can shield his or her health, with a view to achieving healthier behaviours). The participation of citizens in the vulnerable groups of the programme is confirmed in writing by the staff of the Health Centres. The proposed tests are covered, under certain conditions, by the EOPYY.

The Health Centre is also responsible for the coordination of the Health Prevention Programmes and information campaigns for the population. In comparison, the information and awareness raising of the citizens is done through the organization of actions and events as well as through printed and electronic media (such as the distribution of leaflets, information through social media posts, information through posted videos on the Municipality’s website and social media).
