Description
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR REGISTRATION IN THE REGISTERS OF BOYS
Each new male member of a family is registered in the Register of Boys with his birth certificate, which within the first quarter of the year following his birth, is sent to each Municipality or Community by the Register Office that draws up the certificate.
The competent Municipality or Community for the registration of the minor is the one in whose Municipal Register the parents of the minor are registered (Law 2119/93).
When for any reason the minor is not registered in the Register of Minors, although he/she is Greek by birth, he/she is considered undocumented and is registered under the procedure for registering a minor as undocumented.

I need to know
All types of certificates, as well as civil registry acts can be searched by the service on the basis of the provisions of Law 3242/2OO4 and Law 3448/2006 “on ex officio search” as long as the events have taken place in Greece (marriages, births, deaths).
Excluded are acts concerning events that have taken place abroad and are declared at the Special Registry of Athens, where the ex officio search does not apply.
